Detailed Compliance Analysis
Websites
With the upgrade and redesign of Monri’s official website and the integration of the UserWay accessibility plugin, the website is largely compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 (WCAG 2.2).
Despite our efforts to ensure our websites are accessible, we are aware that certain limitations remain and are actively working to address them. Known limitations and possible solutions include:
- Official Monri Payments website: Some links lack sufficient context to be understood independently, which may confuse screen reader users.
- Monri WSPay service website: Links are distinguishable from surrounding text only by color. Additionally, some chart data is differentiated solely by color, which may hinder low-vision users from identifying links or understanding graphs.
These deficiencies are planned to be addressed during 2025.
In-store Payment Processing
The card payment devices provided by Monri Payments (POS terminals) were developed and released before 28 June 2025. Pursuant to Article 37(3) of the Act, these devices may remain in use in their current form for the next 20 years, until 28 June 2045.
Therefore, these products are currently exempt from accessibility obligations. However, Monri monitors technological developments and aligns new generations of devices with future requirements.
Known limitations:
- No screen reader support
- No font size adjustment or contrast optimization features
Online Payment Processing
This includes products such as WebPay and WSPay payment forms, Monri Web Dashboard, WSPay Admin, PayPer Dashboard, QR Pay Dashboard, WebRisk, WPOS Admin, and other similar interface tools. These online solutions are partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidelines.
Functional and visual limitations affecting users with disabilities, particularly those using assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, keyboard navigation, high-contrast devices), include:
- Most online apps do not support full navigation without a mouse,
- Focus indicators during keyboard navigation are often missing or unclear,
- No full screen reader support; many functionalities are not accessible via alternative inputs,
- Most interfaces support font scaling without disrupting functionality
- Some apps have contrast levels below the recommended 4.5:1, though information is never conveyed by color alone,
- Some images and icons conveying information lack alternative text.
Monri continues to invest in improving the accessibility of its digital products and services, especially in the area of online payments. We are aware of current functional and visual shortcomings affecting users with disabilities and have planned systematic updates and interface adjustments in 2025 and 2026 to increase alignment with current guidelines, including WCAG 2.2.
Cash Register Solutions
According to Article 3(1) of the Act, products not directly intended for end users (e.g., devices used exclusively by business personnel) are not subject to accessibility requirements.
Thus, traditional Monri fiscal cash registers used by personnel (e.g., waiters, sales staff) are not covered by the Act as they are not designed for end-user use. Only self-service solutions (self-service kiosks) fall within the scope of the Act.
The self-service kiosks are currently not compliant and upgrading them would require significant technical and financial investment, which currently constitutes a disproportionate burden as defined in Article 37 of the Act.
Known limitations:
- No screen reader or alternative input support
- Interface requires a touchscreen
- No font scaling or contrast theme support
- Missing alternative text for visual elements
In accordance with Article 37 of the Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services and Article 32(2) of Directive (EU) 2019/882, Monri Payments claims exemption on grounds of disproportionate burden, considering the product’s nature, number of users, and upgrade cost structure.
Support and Documentation
Monri Payments provides customer support through multiple accessible channels, including email, contact forms, and technical documentation available on its websites. Contact forms are largely adapted for use with screen readers and keyboard navigation to facilitate accessible communication for all users, including those with disabilities.
User documentation, guides, and FAQs are available in textual format and written in clear and understandable language, in line with the requirements of the Act. However, we acknowledge that some older materials are not fully compatible with assistive technologies like screen readers and that certain video content lacks subtitles or transcripts.
It is also noted that current customer support staff are not specially trained to work with users with disabilities. Monri is considering including accessibility and assistive technology training in future support staff development programs.
Measures Undertaken
To enhance accessibility, Monri Payments:
- Follows WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines as a standard in developing new products, digital interfaces, and applications
- Regularly tests the accessibility of its digital products
- Integrates accessibility adaptations into development plans for products and services released before 28 June 2025
Preparation of the Accessibility Statement
This statement was prepared using the self-assessment method conducted by the Monri Payments team. It was drafted in accordance with the format proposed by Article 19 of the Act.
The statement was issued on 27 June 2025 and last updated on 3 July 2025. It will be reviewed at least once per year or in the event of significant changes in relevant products or legislation.
